A place for everything, and everything in its place

Posted on Categories Uncategorized

I’ve been terrible about keeping everyone up-to-date over the past two weeks…but I’m turning over a new leaf.  We’ve been absolutely frantic trying to get everything moved around, stood up, and connected.  But at this point everything is now in its place, and our manufacturer’s rep arrived today to help us get everything hooked up, tested, and ready to run!

First off, I’d like to thank everyone who helped getting the equipment and furniture unloaded and stood up.  We had to use three different forklifts (as the first two wouldn’t fit through the door) and lots of math, engineering and physics to get all of the vessels (some weighing 1600+ pounds) stood up and positioned.  We did have to widen a couple of doorways to get a few things moved around, but as of this morning the heat exchanger is on the roof, the chiller pumps and reservoir are in back area, the keg washer and filler are in place, the water filter and tankless water heaters (Rinnai) are up on the walls and ready to be fired up, the brewhouse equipment is all in place, and all of our furniture has arrived.  We also got the sound system working, the TVs and projector up, the glass washer in, and all the lighting is now done as well.

All we’re waiting on is the TTB (still).  The Colorado licensing is even complete, so as soon as we get our TTB application approved it will take 4 weeks to brew, hire staff, and clean up and we can open the doors!

View from the entrance: Brewery is visible in back, the projector is up on the ceiling, and all the lights are set. Still a bit of a mess, though!

View from the bar: All of the furniture has been delivered (except for the long tables in the beer hall area) and assembled, the the projector and screen are set and tested.

View from the brewhouse: The 4 main serving tanks are looking good, as is the bar (it just needs an extra coat of polyurethane). The mill has arrived and we got it up on wheels (to be moved into the back soon). Even the bar rail is mostly polished up!

View into the brewhouse: All of the fermenters (2x20bbl in front, and 4x10bbl behind them) are in place, upright, and leveled, as are the two serving tanks. The mash tun and boil kettle are ready for their final connections, too!

So glad we’re going to have a brew pub in our neighborhood! Can hardly wait for you to finish the remodel, brew up some beer and open for business. We used to patronize the Fox and Hound back when, so are familiar with the basic layout of the space. Looks like you’ve made excellent use of same.

Thanks, Dave! We’re really looking forward to opening…we’re just waiting for our final approval from the TTB, and we can’t start brewing without it. We’re hoping that it might come this month, which would mean we’d open in February (as it will take 3-4 weeks for all of the beer to be ready).

Same. Can’t wait. Hope the beer is great. I’ve been looking for a good brewery and look forward to walking over frequently.
Fox and Hound didn’t cut it.

We’re certainly planning on having great beer! We’re already working on the brewing system and getting accustomed to it, even though we can’t actually make beer yet. And we can’t wait to share it with all of you!
